It was a crazy night in Marion as the Rebels outlasted Marion’s comeback attempt by winning the game 17-15. Carson Lemerande and Walker Winkelman would each drive in two runs in the top of the 2nd with hard line drive hits. Up 6-4 in the 4th inning, Cooper Albrecht would lace a single into center driving in two runs to up the lead to 8-4. The Rebels took a 12-4 lead into the bottom of the 5th inning, but Marion would storm back as Rebel pitching struggled to throw strikes. Up 15-12, Levi Shepard drove in two runs on a single to up the lead to 17-12. Marion had an answer again and was able to cut the lead to 17-15 and getting the tying run on base. Reegan Roy would be called on to pitch in a high pressure situation. The wrestling state champ at 106 pounds would retire two straight batters to hold on for the win. This was the first time in Laona/Wabeno history that the Rebels started 3-0.
