Rebels win Season Opener at American Family Field

The Rebels opened their season with an exciting 11-7 win vs Lena following the Brewers win over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, April 6.

Lena got the scoring started in the 2nd inning, scoring three runs on four hits in the inning. Brody Hoffman would get the Rebels on the board on an RBI double in the third. After Lena added another run in the bottom half of the third, the Rebels exploded for five runs in the fourth with Carson Lemerande, Walker Winkelman, and Brody Hoffman driving in runs. Boone VanOoyan would add another run in the fifth inning with an RBI single of his own to make the score 9-4. Lena would answer for three runs in the bottom of the 6th on some walks and poor defense by the Rebels. In the bottom of the 7th, up 11-7, Levi Shepard would strike out three time M&O all-conference selection Tyler Shallow to win the game for the Rebels.
